Hierarchical Ruler or Loving Ruler?

There are two kinds of ruler using to measure the righteousness: Hierarchical ruler, representatives are the scribes and Pharisees, and the loving ruler is the ruler the Lord Jesus invited his disciples to use to measure the righteousness that reported in today’s Gospel.

Hierarchical ruler said, “You shall not kill; and whoever kills will be liable to judgment,” but the loving ruler said, “Whoever is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment, and whoever says to his brother, Raqa, will be answerable to the Sanhedrin, and whoever says, “you fool,” will be liable to fiery Gehenna.” This, then, is not only about the actual kill is considered the act of killing, but by the act of angry of someone for something is already liable to the act of killing that someone. Hierarchical ruler might say to bring your gift to the altar is good, but the loving ruler might say that it’s better to go to make peace and reconcile with your opponent then come back and offer the gift.

High school education in Vietnam means that students have to spend a lot of time in school and outside of school not only on weekdays but also on weekend as well. Going to college or university after graduated from high school means spending money to study extra at one of the many centers preparing students for taking tests to enter college. Most of students, if they want to pass the tests to go to college or university, they should have to study in one of those centers since most of the public high schools don’t cover everything before students taking tests.

Just as many other high school students, I asked my mom to pay for studying in one of the centers. My mom was about to go to Mass and refused to give me money to pay for that. My sister, who is a religious sister, just happened to be home that day. She stopped my mom to go to Church and asked my mom to give me money then go to Church. My mom wasn’t happy about it and told my sister where the key was for the money and took off to go to Church.

The hierarchical ruler is the one who strictly to observe the rules and the laws, but the loving ruler is the one who does not only observe the rules and the laws, but to live it with love and compassion. Who are you and I identified ourselves with, the hierarchical ruler or the loving ruler?
